as a leeds fan, I know all about rubbish players.here's my worst spurs XI of the last 20 years (give or take). Lars Hirschfeld, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Alton Thelwell, Jason Cundy, Clive Wilson, Andy Sinton, Jonathan Blondel, Ilie Dumitrescu,Gica Popescu, Sergei Rebrov, Grzegorz Rasiak. feel free to suggest others. Note: it's just a coincidence that a lot of those players are from eastern europe, it's mainly that until berbatov spurs had absolutely no luck with players from behind the iron curtain.....

Only jokin about Reade but if "Juande at a time sweet Jesus" doesnt stop messin and start winnin he can go!Milk Cup win over Chelski was great but a Gooner in a raincoat won us that too and how good was he?

Good to see all the yids getting together in Wexford (hun)- Always liked the spurs though LFC man myself - keep up the good work and I will definitely be in Maggis with you guys in May with Mick Reade ( am off the drink for april)

My Trip To Spurs Spammers march 9th 2008

After much chopping and changing (and much expense) as the game was shifted from Saturday to Sunday (because UEFA cup match, what a waste that was) we finally arrived in London on the Saturday afternoon.

Off the plane at Luton, few cans of Stella for the train ride into London and then cab to the hotel. Holborn Travelodge! Highly recommend it, cheap, clean and very central.

We of course dumped the bags, and straight to the pub. 11 pints later we are rolling through the streets of Soho looking for a kebab (really a kebab). Anyway we find a great Lebanese restaurant, but seem to lose one of our party to the delights of Wardour street (arrived in at 3am next morning, saying he had a McFlurie at McDonalds – Have to say never heard it called that!).

Next morning (with sore head) we head to Liverpool street and then on the train to White Hart Lane station. Breakfast in Greek/English café eggs, beans, bacon, sausage and bubble). Spurs shop for lots of purchases.

Then the drinking starts…………only 11:45am

2:30pm, into the ground for a last pint before taking our place in the lower west stand, block 35 – great spot right next to the Spammers fans (at this point they are full of song and banter, little did they know)

The game itself was a bit of a blur, lots of singing, out for drinks again at half time, and more abuse for Spammers in the second half.

Best songs; Gay, boy, Gay boy for Freddie ex scum lungburger. And “you’re just a fat Aussie Cun! Just a Fat Aussie cun? For Lucas Neil. Oh and England’s, number 6 for Green at every goal kick! (little did we know…..)

I have to say I felt for my Spammers fan that went with us, not only did they get battered, but because he was in the Spurs end he had to stand and clap each goal – All 4 of them!!

Needles to say, we were all up for beer after, him to commiserate and us to celebrate.
Had a couple in the bricklayers, and then onto the “infamous” British Queen”. Rough out, and right in the middle of a housing estate? But you could get to the bar and it is 2 mins from the station. And apparently a “McFlurrie” in the toilet if you have the cash! Lots O Pints (lost count at this point)

Back on the train (lots of singing), and into Liverpool street. Drinks in the station (long train journey without drink), and then back to West End. We found a little spot on the corner of Trafalgar Sq that sells great Guinness and Starahprava (can’t spell it, but you know what I mean). Plus the Spammers fan was taken with the “waitress in the red dress” (from the night before). He told the owner the very same thing; of course it turned out to be his wife DOPE!

We then went to a sports bar just off Piccadilly, just in time to see Chelski get beaten buy Barnsley – so of course we had lot’s of drinks and a couple of shots to celebrate. After this, my memory gets a little hazy, but I think we hit a few more pubs, got split up. I have more, but only aloud 3k charac

Killian, updade on the Carling adventure, I got into Wembley for the game - a long story involving a forged ticket and the help of Lee, a Tottenham fan and real gentleman in a wheelchair who let me keep my head down and "asist" him, beat security and get into the stand. Finally ended up watching the game from the seats reserved for Vertigo sufferers. Hi to Declan and his youngfella Dylan who found themselves in the same pedicament as me after traveling all the way from LA for the game. Great day, great result, fingers crossed for a job on PSV in the second leg...... coys RK
